03/10: 3-Hr-Sketch: FUTURE BIKER

Hung out with some friends last night and wanted to hammer out a quick sketch that I would start and complete that night. By nature, I’m very careful, and plan out my drawings a lot, so it was fun to just be impulsive and go with whatever popped into my head at the moment. It was pretty freeing and pretty fun. :-)

I did the layouts, pen work, and marker work in approximately 3 hours. Overall, that’s pretty fast for me (dunno if that’s good or bad). I was trying to channel my inner Eric Canete and was looking at some of his sketches while I was working.

Speaking of, if you haven’t seen Eric’s sketches, please do yourself a favor and check out his blog (link). His 90 minute sketches are insanely incredible.

This sketch was off a future biker. I started off with a girl in a futuristic space suit with gloves and gear. I kind of mulled around with the elements of her suit trying to figure out what to do with it. But once I put the helmet on her, I knew she had to be a biker of some sort.

Lastly, threw it into Photoshop for some minor touchups and cropping.
